For Writers

After sending my script to multiple producers in LA, Jon was the first to offer clear, actionable feedback that went beyond surface-level notes. He identified not just what wasn’t working—but why—and helped me understand how to fix it. His insights into story structure, character arcs, dialogue, and pacing were razor-sharp, and his sage suggestions pushed my script to a level where it finally felt industry-ready. Jon’s ability to see the heart of a story and guide it forward with precision is rare—and invaluable for any writer serious about breaking into Hollywood. In addition to his script notes, Jon offered honest, strategic advice on how to navigate the industry—what to expect, what to avoid, and how to position myself realistically without losing momentum.

What services do you provide?

A wide range of project and career consulting. Depending on where you are in your career/with your project I can provide notes to improve and expert advice on next steps.

Are you similar to The Blcklst and other paid coverage sites?

Those sites can be valuable for some writers but my services are more in-depth and bespoke. You will also know exactly who is reading and commenting on your material.

What do you charge?

See below for prices on some standard tasks. I’m happy to work with you so please feel free to send an email or submit on the contact page.

Will I need to sign a release?

Yes, to protect your intellectual property and my own industry projects a signed release will be required before I read any material. The process is simple and can be completed quickly via Docusign.

How do you accept payment?

Happy to accept payment via the service of your choice (PayPal/Venmo/Zelle/etc.) Paper checks are even a possibility but payment is required before commencing service.

Would you ever produce something that was submitted?

I guess one should never say never but that is not the intent of this service. If I fell in love with a project and wanted to produce I would refund any monies paid; no one should offering to produce a project for pay. If they are you should report them to the WGA.

For a 10/15 minute conversation by phone to find out how I can be helpful to your projects and career.

Development Notes on a project – $150

For written development notes and a half hour Zoom session to discuss (what we term a notes meeting in the industry). This is the best way to learn about issues with a draft and prepare to revise. Turnaround is one week on the written notes.

Writing Career Consultation – $75

For up to an hour on Zoom going over how to take the next step in your writing career – whether that’s submitting to festivals, getting an agent/manager, submitting to producers directly, or making the transition from film to television. I would review your resume and loglines before the call and provide a recap and resources after the fact.

Full Development Cycle – $300

For the experience of a full development cycle for your project. Includes at least two rounds of notes and three Zoom sessions. Meant to produce the best finished project possible and give the experience of working with a producer to improve a screenplay.

Pitch Practice – $100

For an hour to an hour and half on Zoom where you’ll pitch your project as you would to a buyer and I’ll provide feedback/an opportunity to workshop. This is a common part of the development process and pitching well is one of the hardest skills to learn and absolutely needed for a successful career in film and television.

Pitch Deck Design – $300-$500

Depending on your proposed scope. Designing pitch decks has been part of my job as a development executive and I can send examples of decks we’ve made to sell projects. Two week turnaround.
