Taking your film & Television Projects to the next level
Your Development Executive
Get insight on on your project from a Development Executive who knows how good ideas become great films and TV series. Development Executives are the unsung heroes of Hollywood working with writers to shape their ideas into screenplays and pilots for the commercial marketplace. I started this company to bring my 15+ years of Development experience at Production and Management Companies to your projects because working with writers has always been the best part of my job.
How Development Unlocks a Writer’s Potential
Detailed, Actionable Notes
The core of what Development Executives do is providing notes and guidance to writers at every stage of a project to get it ready for production. That means knowing and being able to articulate how a treatment/script/pilot can be improved.
Insider Insights
Screen and television writing is both an art and skill. Working writers learn much of the skill from Representatives and Development Executives who can explain what buyers want and how to give it to them. I can help you understand everything from how a screenplay should be formatted to its potential in the current marketplace.
Proven Success
Whether developing independent horror films or family friendly fare for Disney and Hallmark, collaborating with others is at the heart of my industry work. Take a look at the testimonials below from writers that I’ve worked with to get a sense of how I can help your work.
Hear it from the Professionals
Gregg McBride (A HEAVENLY CHRISTMAS)
Jon is a joy to work with—dedicated, well-connected, and deeply committed to the craft. He has a rare talent for elevating material while honoring its original intent.
Writer/Producer
Robert Rinow (DETENTION OF THE DEAD)
Jon’s skill at development is second to none. He has a keen eye for story and structure that allows him to help any writer elevate their script to its fullest potential.
Writer/Playwright
Paula Sabbaga (HUNTING PARTY, DYNASTY)
Jon is one of the best executives I’ve ever had the pleasure of working with. Not only is he talented, smart and extremely creative, he will also find plenty of different ways to engage and connect with the writer and the project in every step of the creative process. It doesn’t matter if we’re coming up with a pitch, in the middle of research or working on last minute tweaks before a deadline, Jon will make sure the material is always taken care of. I can’t wait to work with him again. And again. And then, also, again.

Frequently Asked Questions
What services do you offer for writers?
Everything from detailed development notes on individual scripts to career coaching and pitching practice. I can help get your project to the next level whether that’s turning in an important rewrite or getting noticed by an agent/manager. See pricing
What about studios & production companies?
We all know how vital development is to a successful project but in the current state of our business there’s less and less money for full time development executives. That’s where I come in, providing all the services of a development department on a project by project basis for a reasonable flat fee.
Is this a paid coverage service?
No, there are plenty of sites that already offer a nameless (or AI) reader to provide glowing coverage without real insights for improvement. I can tell you as someone that receives dozens of query letters per day that no one in the industry is swayed by that kind of paid coverage. I provide the same level of notes for you that I would for a project set up with a network or studio.
How do I get started with your services?
To get started, simply reach out through the contact form or email me to schedule a consultation. We will discuss your specific needs and how I can assist you in achieving your goals.
